Changes apply to the demo above and to the code tabs. Descriptions come from the library registry (MIT).

NameValueDefaultRange / optionsDescription
progressProgressAuto-animated in the demo — moving it pins the value0.50 – 1 (step 0.01)How far the dissolve has progressed (0 = fully visible, 1 = fully wiped away)
blockSizeBlock Size0.080.01 – 0.5 (step 0.01)Size of each block as a fraction of the frame width
softnessSoftness0.150 – 1 (step 0.01)How softly each block fades out (0 = hard-edged blocks)
invertInvertfalse—Reverse the order blocks dissolve in

Every component also takes blendMode · opacity · visible · maskSource/maskType · boundingBox · id

The frame breaks into blocks that disappear at different times. It combines a regular grid with a scattered dissolve.

`progress` defaults to 0.5 and ranges from 0 to 1. `blockSize` defaults to 0.08 and ranges from 0.01 to 0.5 for block size; `softness` defaults to 0.15 and ranges from 0 to 1 for fade softness. `invert` defaults to false and reverses the order.

Put the incoming scene below the outgoing image and animate progress to make a transition. Large blocks feel coarse and small ones create a dense pattern, so match the size to the image. Small text can break along the block edges.

When to use

Use it for grid-like dissolves, pixel-flavored scene changes, or video effects aligned with block graphics. Avoid it when small type or fine UI detail must be preserved.
